ICYMI: October Wrap-Up

EquipmentShare is moving quickly. It seems like every moment there is something new to share! The important news can often get lost in the midst of all the updates, videos, conversations and promotions. So, in case you missed it, here are the top three things EquipmentShare news this month:

EquipmentShare Makes Y Combinator’s Top Companies of 2019

Once again, EquipmentShare landed on Y Combinator’s Top Companies list, claiming spot #37 of 102. EquipmentShare graduated from startup incubator Y Combinator in the winter of 2015.  The list ranks the top-valued YC alum since its start in 2005, including high-profile companies such as Airbnb, Dropbox and Reddit.

EquipmentShare Celebrates Five Years

On October 14, EquipmentShare celebrated five years in business, plus a few more digits worth celebrating: 800+ employees, 30+ rental locations and 32,000 Track-connected assets. EquipmentShare has come a long way since our beginnings at Columbia Startup Weekend in 2014, and while there’s a lot to reminisce on, there’s so much more to look forward to. Here’s to the next five!

AEMP’s EquipmentSHIFT Conference

On October 23 and 24, the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) hosted EquipmentSHIFT, a conference dedicated to discussing technology’s role in the future of equipment management. EquipmentShare was a proud sponsor of EquipmentSHIFT and hosted the conference’s welcome reception on October 22 at the historic Marriott hotel in downtown Kansas City, Mo. The night featured old fashioned drinks, Kansas City barbecue and great conversation between top equipment management professionals. As you can see, we had a great time hosting EquipmentSHIFT attendees:

Rapid Rents

Throughout the past month, we’ve had a dedicated team testing a new EquipmentShare Product called Rapid Rents. Let’s say a contractor rents equipment for a project, but doesn’t need it for a few days or until the project reaches a certain point. The equipment sits, unused and idle, on the contractor’s jobsite—and that costs him money. Rapid Rents solves this money-wasting problem.

Rapid Rents makes it easy for contractors to rent the unused equipment sitting on other contractors’ jobsites. This way, contractors can maximize their rental equipment use and reduce their rental costs. In October, the Rapid Rents team did some software beta-testing with a crew in Arkansas, and the team has another beta-testing run planned with a client in Illinois. Rapid Rents is ramping up. Check back in the near future for a progress update on this new Product of EquipmentShare’s.
