If there’s one word that characterizes the construction industry, it is resilient. Although work looks different in 2020, we’ve adapted to the new normal and continue to do what we do best: work.
It’s likely that you’re following some new safety procedures and relying on technology more than ever to stay on track at work. Your work hasn’t stopped, so neither has ours, and we’re continuing to offer innovative ways to connect your jobsite and control your fleet remotely. In July, we rolled out new Track features, like Time Cards, and more connectivity solutions for your fleet. Catch up on what you may have missed below!
VLP, an EquipmentShare Company
The former Victor L. Phillips Company (VLP) is now part of the EquipmentShare family adding five new locations in Missouri and Kansas and rebranding as VLP, An EquipmentShare Company.
These five locations will operate as authorized Case, Epiroc and Sennebogen dealers. The locations in Garden City and Joplin, Mo., and in Topeka and Wichita, Kan., will also operate as traditional EquipmentShare branches and offer specialized construction technology solutions and equipment rentals.
“EquipmentShare is proud to build on the legacy of innovation, reliability and strong, long-lasting customer relationships that VLP has sustained for more than 100 years,” EquipmentShare CEO Jabbok Schlacks said. “This acquisition will allow us to build on this foundation, expand our reach in these markets and best serve the long-time customers of The Victor L. Phillips Company.”

Track Talk: Time Cards and E-Logs
In July, EquipmentShare rolled out a new Track product called Time Cards. Product Owner Patrick Cassidy leads the Time Cards and E-Logs teams at EquipmentShare. Patrick says his team’s ultimate goal for these two products is to eliminate contractors’ guesswork in managing employees, which directly connects to contractors saving money.
Through the use of Time Cards, contractors can increase visibility across their teams by connecting hours worked on specific jobsites with specific tasks. Time Cards will also simplify scheduling and help construction managers track employee overtime. Patrick sat down to talk about Time Cards and how they integrate with Track E-Logs in a new feature, Track Talk, on The Yard. Watch the video, then check out the “Time Cards and E-Logs: Team Transparency and ELD Compliance with Track” blog post for a closer look at those Track features.
EquipmentShare Track on New Equipment
In July, Matt Bade, the senior project manager on the Telematics team at EquipmentShare, had the opportunity to work with our Atlas Copco partners to create Track connectivity solutions for the Atlas Copco pumps in our Pump and Power division. Bade and his team also worked with VLP and their partners at Epiroc to install Track on a Epiroc T45 Surface Crawler drill.
Testing and installing Track telematics on these new machines allowed us to work with new OEM partners to build the best-connected jobsite solutions for contractors. Track doesn’t just run on heavy equipment—it also runs on vehicles and smaller tools to increase visibility and connectivity across every facet of the jobsite. Our Telematics team is always looking for ways to expand Track capabilities and is excited to capture data from these newly Track-equipped machines.
