ICYMI: September at EquipmentShare

As we enter the last quarter of the year, EquipmentShare will continue to look forward to what’s to come as well as celebrate all we’ve accomplished this year. Each month we like to recap and reflect on the exciting updates from the month before, just in case you missed it. Take a look below at the unique and rewarding opportunities we faced in September! 

Hurricane Laura Disaster Response

In late August, Hurricane Laura touched down in the Gulf of Mexico and severely damaged the Lake Charles, La., area, which is home to many of our team members and one of our rental locations. Before the storm hit, EquipmentShare’s leadership knew we needed to prepare for the worst. With EquipmentShare branches scattered across the Gulf in Texas, Louisiana and Florida, we were determined to help the communities of our customers and employees who could be affected.

In preparation, the EquipmentShare Disaster Response division teamed up with dozens of EquipmentShare team members to ship our entire fleet of generators down to Beaumont, Texas, along with emergency supplies, such as water bottles and debris removal equipment. After the hurricane and tropical storms hit, the EquipmentShare team moved to Lake Charles to offer emergency supplies and generators wherever they were needed. 

Since opening our Lake Charles branch in early 2019, we have developed strong ties to the community. We were humbled to be able to help the Lake Charles community repair, rebuild and move forward.

EquipmentShare Appoints New Executive Operating Partner

EquipmentShare welcomed Trevor Schauenberg as our new Executive Operating Partner last month. In this role, Schauenberg will support the executive team with financial strategy and leadership.

“This announcement is indicative of our company’s upward trajectory,” EquipmentShare President and Co-founder Willy Schlacks said. “Trevor’s diverse business experience managing multi-billion-dollar businesses, leading global teams and driving complex initiatives across both industrial and financial services will help propel EquipmentShare’s future and enhance our operations.” 

Schauenberg brings with him 28 years of progressive leadership experience from his time at General Electric Company (GE) in operational, strategic and financial leadership roles, including leading GE’s investor relations from 2008 to 2013. As a GE Company officer, Schauenberg held multiple divisional CFO and CEO leadership positions at GE, including CEO of GE Capital’s North American Leasing and Lending businesses. His strong record of delivering exceptional results in revenue growth, operational enhancement and overall fiscal health also earned him a pending appointment to EquipmentShare’s board of directors. 

“I am honored to be joining the EquipmentShare team as they continue to grow their innovative technology platform and equipment rental business for the construction industry,” Schauenberg said. “After working with the Schlacks brothers for the past month, I’m extremely impressed by the technology and rental solutions they provide to contractors. EquipmentShare’s historical growth rate and future potential are tremendous and truly unique to most business opportunities I have seen in my career. I look forward to contributing to their financial strategy and leadership as they continue their rapid growth and evolution.”

EquipmentShare Continues to Hire Throughout Pandemic

On Sept. 1, EquipmentShare was included in Glassdoor’s article, 21 Companies Activity Hiring Amid COVID-19. While no industry has been immune to the past seven months of hardship due to the pandemic, EquipmentShare knows that now, more than ever, it’s important to continue looking forward.

EquipmentShare Partners with Local Non-Profits

We’re lucky to have many opportunities to support nonprofit organizations making a difference in our communities. In September, we partnered with the Super Sam Foundation out of Fulton, Mo., as well as Heart of Missouri United Way located in our hometown of Columbia, Mo., to support their respective causes.

In observance of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Equipment pledged to match all donations made up to $10,000 to the Super Sam Foundation throughout September! The Super Sam Foundation, which is based in the hometown of  EquipmentShare CEO Jabbok Schlacks and his wife, Executive Assistant Danielle Schlacks, is dedicated to fighting for “All the Kids” through cancer research, comfort, support and awareness. On Sept. 11, we partnered with Heart of Missouri United Way for their Day of Caring! Team members at EquipmentShare headquarters in Columbia, Mo., volunteered their day to pack Care Kits with health and hygiene supplies, encouraging notes and informational resources for recipients.
